Yan Jun

Yan Jun is musician and poet, born in Lanzhou in 1973 and currently based in Beijing, He works with field recording, voice, electronic feedback and body movements on his many conceptual projects and live performances.
Yan published an experimental podcast dedicated to the ‘non music’ scene in Beijing in 2021, commissioned by us as part of Counterflows at Home. In 2025 he returned, performing solo and in a duo with Liene Rozite at our festival. We work closely with Yan to nourish connections between the Scottish and Chinese underground and experimental music scenes.
