Getting there
Gathering Ground is an intimate new space we will be using for the festival. The meeting place for the specific performance events is at the Gathering Ground cafe, but you will be lead to a different space (their community garden) about 3 minutes walk away from the site.
If you are coming for the 2-4pm open garden on the Sunday the map for where this is is at the bottom of this page.
Bus
75, 7 & 7A all stop at Baird Brae, a 3 minute walk from the space
Underground
The nearest stop is Cowcaddens, which is 15 minutes walk away from the space
Train
The space is not very near train transport. The nearest stations are Charing Cross and Ashfield. Both of which are approximately 20 minutes walk from the space.
Main entrance
There are two entrances to Gathering Ground: one outside with steps, and another (pictured here) that is accessible from the pavement. There then leads short route to enter the space.
To enter the space, follow the path around the corner to the left, turn right, then turn right again. The path is quite slim for wheelchair users, so if you need any assistance please us know in advance.
Toilets
There is a fully accessible toilet located in the picture. Just enter via the accessible entrance, go straight forward, then at the end of the path on your left hand side there will be an accessible toilet.
General environment
Gathering Ground is a warm, welcoming community-lead space. Inside there is a small cafe that can hold upto 20 people. It will be open if you want to pick up a hot or cold drink or a snack.
Performance space
The performance space (the gathering ground’s community garden) is a short 3 minute accessible walk from the space. You will be lead there by a member of the Counterflows team shortly after the meeting point time.
Please make sure to bring warm and waterproof clothes to this space as it is outside. The entrance to the space looks like this off the side-walk:
The performance will take place at the end of the space in the picture below. By the time the performance will take place there will be a levelled seating area for 25 people, accessible via two small steps. It will be basic fold out seats with no side or cushions.
There is accessible space for 1 person for each performance at the back of the performance. If you want to reserve a spot at this please let us know.
