Mika Vainio, Lee Patterson & Luke Fowler
A first time meeting between 3 different practitioners in electronic and experimental music.
A pioneering Finnish electronic musician and composer, Vainio was a founding member of the highly influential industrial techno and minimal electronic trio Pan Sonic (originally Panasonic). After Pan Sonic disbanded, he maintained a prolific solo career, releasing ambient, drone, and noise music under his own name as well as monikers like Ø and Philus.2.
A sound artist and improviser known for working on the fringes of field recording and electroacoustic music. Paterson’s performances frequently involve amplifying the sounds of everyday objects and natural phenomena—such as burning peanuts or Epsom salts—by using specialized contact microphones. His highly tactile approach creates a unique sonic landscape ranging from quiet clicks to violent drones.
A Glasgow-based filmmaker, photographer, and musician. Fowler’s artistic practice frequently explores radical social histories, institutional power, and biographical subjects, primarily through collage-based documentary filmmaking. As a musician and sound artist, Fowler is heavily embedded in the experimental and improvised music communities, which led to his live collaborations with musicians like Vainio and Paterson.
