Annea Lockwood: ‘bayou-borne’ + <3 (Less Than Three)

We return to the beloved Maryhill Community Central Halls venue for two sprawling group performances.
<3 (Less Than Three) open the show, the trio of Deas McMorrow, Lene Tassin and Harry Bix. Their musical compositions are a fragmented exploration of each member’s world. Hand forged instruments, spoken word, fiction, and musical instrumentations overlap. Their performance has a pronounced visual element, constructing sonic snapshots that portray a kind of inner reverie.
The 2nd half of the event welcomes a performance of bayou-borne, a piece written by Annea Lockwood in 2016, dedicated to her friend Pauline Oliveros, based on a map of the six bayous converging near Houston, Texas. This will be performed by an ensemble of Nate Wooley, Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh, Fritz Welch, Angharad Davies, Diljeet Kaur Bhachu and Garazi Navas.
