Thefuries

Thefuries is another face of a practicing artist. They make music for the tranquility of the souls of survivors of sexual violence: requiems for the living, the living dead and the dead. Their work is an experiment in telling their story, in using small pieces of poison to create protection. They use dissonance, sounds of alarm, both human and non-human, and field recordings from the everyday, to surface how trauma changes the way survivors listen. In restructuring the sounds, they hope that the listener can experience moments of ease and even joy, bringing their body into the listening experience.
