“A rare gem… Sublime” – Wire magazine
“Winningly uncompromising” – The Scotsman
“Physical and fierce: a music that demands a different way of listening.” – The Cusp
Over the course of the last 6 years Counterflows has made space for the presentation of a radically diverse array of adventurous forms of musical expression. Whether born out of so-called DIY scenes, the internet or geographically remote communities, we believe that underground music belongs to a myriad of voices and is best engaged with when we come together, share ideas, break down borders, challenge hierarchies, push the boundaries and have a hell of a lot of fun in the process.
Following on from the success of the 2016 edition of Counterflows Festival in April, we’ll be focussing our efforts for the rest of this year on a series of smaller events and special projects. Check our Upcoming Events tab and news on what we’re up to!
The next Counterflows Festival will take place in our favourite venues and non-venues in Glasgow on the 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th of April 2017. Hold tight for the first announcements and early-bird tickets later this year.
